while I upload my Silverlight websiteto my Web Server. The key to good health is to eat right, sleep right, exercise right, and treat others right. Windows Update was ran after installation and before installing the IIS role. I created a basic hello world ASP.NET application utilizing Visual Studio 2008 with SP 1 and the .NET 3.5 SP1 frame work installed. weblink

Of course the app was targeting framework 4.5, so changed App pool to 4.0 from default app pool, which was there earlier. this will force the built in webserver to refresh and recompile the global.asax file. Not sure why it is working on the DEV server? Because it was not included visual studio compiled it anyway without issues. my site

And I've tried a number of things, and by "things" I mean "wild guesses". This only applies to apps using codebehind.

  1. now recompile your application and voila, should be showing the page!
  2. I had to delete global.asax.cs and then added a new one by right clicking Project -> Add New Item -> Global.asax and THAT finally fixed it.
  3. Coworkers quitting under special circumstances -- should telling our manager be one of my options?

Note: The Web Applications will build properly and run properly on our local development computers using Visual Studio 2012. Since you are saying that the project does not contain the project file or solution file, I think the problem is here. The Target Framework was set to 2.0; changing it on the server to match in the IIS Manager/App Pool solved the issue for me.
