This happens if there are two different versions of java.exe in your system. JavaTechig Follow below steps to set your java environment variable. I think the Android SDK installer was trying to detect the 32-bit version of the JDK, so I went to install the 32-bit version of the JDK. - A couple of points to note: No need to specify bin or jre folder name.

What I did, I removed the last backslash from the JAVA_HOME variable and it started working. So install following software. Click the Environment Variables button. It only worked by installing the Java JDK 'Windows x86 79.48 MB jdk-7-windows-i586.exe' from oracle.com (despite the fact that I use Windows 64-bit).
